Partners For Peace is part of a collective effort in Monterey County to support the mental health and wellness of our LGBTQIA+ students. School districts and community based organizations, under the guidance of Monterey County Behavioral Health, will be working together to bring support services to our LGBTQIA+ youth and their families. Partnering with Monterey County Behavior Health is Partners For Peace, Harmony at Home, The Epicenter and Monterey County Office of Education. If you are a family looking for support services, please fill out the registration form on this web site.
Partners for Peace (P4P), with its esteemed 30-year history of providing family education, is thrilled to introduce the FAMILY ACCEPTANCE PROJECT ® (FAP) to Monterey County. FAP specifically targets families of LGBTQ+ youth, aiming to foster understanding, support, and acceptance. Through this program, we will equip parents and caregivers with accurate information and guidance on effectively communicating with their youth, alongside offering family support groups. Recognizing the long-term risks associated with rejecting family behaviors—including depression, suicide, low self-esteem, drug abuse, financial instability in adulthood, and sexually transmitted diseases—we are dedicated to creating a nurturing and accepting environment for LGBTQ+ youth. By transitioning rejecting behaviors into accepting ones, we aim to empower families to embrace their youth's identity fully. Together, we can cultivate brighter futures for all families.
Join the Rainbow Connections collaboratives and we collective launch this amazing project! The LGBTQIA+ Student Wellness Expo will be held on May 8th from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM. EVERYONE IS WELCOME! This event is free and goodies and food will be provided!
